Kathrine Hymersartist in residence - August 15 until August 23, 2008 "So often I hear myself saying that I need time and space in order to make work and develop my practice as an artist. However, it often feels difficult to set aside this time and space in amongst an everyday routine. Jerxheim Bahnhof provided some much needed time and space for me to forget about deadlines and applications and get back to the ideas and energy at the core of my work. The time and space to allow the excitement for, and about, my work to emerge again has been invaluable. Jerxheim Bahnhof's stunning location and physicality, in addition to its solitude and quiet, has provided me a wealth of spaces to inhabit, allowing separate fragments to come together over a period of time, initiating new work, and adding new perspectives to my practice." |
